YOUTH COORDINATOR
The Oromo Evangelical Church of Washington, D.C. (OECWDC) warmly invites applications from passionate, spiritually mature, and ministry-minded individuals to serve as our Part-Time Youth Coordinator.
This position offers a meaningful opportunity to disciple and encourage young people in their walk with Christ while helping cultivate spiritual growth, biblical community, and Christ-centered fellowship among the next generation of the church.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Youth Coordinator will provide spiritual, relational, and organizational leadership for the church’s youth ministry, serving youth and young adults through discipleship, biblical teaching, mentoring, fellowship, and outreach.
This individual will help create an environment where young people grow in their relationship with Christ, develop meaningful connections within the church community, and become faithful followers and witnesses of Jesus Christ.
Working collaboratively with church leadership, pastoral staff, parents, and ministry volunteers, the Youth Coordinator will help strengthen and advance a Christ-centered youth ministry aligned with OECWDC’s mission and vision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Youth Coordinator will:
* Lead and coordinate weekly youth fellowship gatherings and Bible studies
* Teach biblical truth and support spiritual formation among youth and young adults
* Develop discipleship initiatives that encourage Christian growth and active participation in church life
* Plan and organize youth retreats, special events, outreach activities, and service opportunities
* Build meaningful mentoring relationships with youth and provide pastoral support as appropriate
* Recruit, equip, and coordinate youth ministry volunteers
* Maintain regular communication with parents, church leadership, and ministry teams
* Foster a safe, welcoming, and spiritually enriching environment for all participants
* Support and advance the mission, vision, and values of OECWDC
* Perform other ministry-related responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should:
* Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ with demonstrated spiritual maturity and Christian character
* Affirm and support the biblical beliefs, mission, and ministry values of OECWDC
* Have experience serving youth and/or young adults in a church, ministry, educational, or related setting
* Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, relational, and organizational skills
* Possess the ability to teach, disciple, encourage, and mentor youth effectively
* Be fluent in English; proficiency in Afaan Oromo is preferred
* Be legally authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Ministry, theological, biblical, or Christian education training
* Previous experience serving in a church ministry or youth leadership
